Sara Grimaldi is a scriptwriter and film director whose work continues to shape and inspire the film industry. Currently, she is receiving acclaim for her latest Documentary, "Immunity", which has been recognized at several international film festivals. This project, like much of her work, underscores her commitment to storytelling that captures authentic human experiences and emotions.
With a career spanning over two decades, Sara remains at the forefront of cinematic innovation, continuing to direct projects that resonate on a deeply human level.
Since 2002, Sara has directed a wide range of projects, including short films, documentaries, and commercials, with a focus on capturing authentic human emotions and crafting compelling narratives. Her early work as an assistant director from 2005 to 2015 involved high-profile projects for major brands such as Barilla, Volkswagen, and Sky, where she developed a keen eye for detail and storytelling.
Sara's talent as a director is reflected in her extensive portfolio, which includes documentaries and reportage for renowned clients like Vogue, GQ, Adobe, and Leroy Merlin, among many others. Her work has been featured on international television networks across France, Singapore, the Netherlands, Canada, Italy, and the U.S., showcasing her ability to convey powerful stories across different mediums.
In 2015, Sara expanded her expertise into executive production, particularly in Paris, where she has produced music videos for Universal, as well as documentaries and branded content for major clients like Adobe. Her directorial work has earned recognition at prestigious film festivals, where her short films and documentaries have been selected and awarded.
A master of emotionally-driven storytelling, Sara excels in the social documentary genre. Her capacity to observe and translate real emotions into captivating narratives has led her to work in unique environments, such as exploring the conditions of female prisoners in the 2013 documentary "Il bosco incantato" for Leroy Merlin, and addressing rare diseases in the 2019 documentary "Immunity."
Sara’s scriptwriting also reflects her deep understanding of the human condition, often exploring themes of characters trapped in the present, haunted by the past, and struggling to envision a future. This theme is prevalent in films like “Le retour du Train” (2017) and in the scripts for "Snow" (currently in pre-production) and "Senza domani," a feature-length screenplay.
